Sports Cars

Are sports cars very popular in California?
I remember going to Los Angeles and San Diego for a trip during the summer. I saw quite a few Corvettes, Porsches, and Mustangs on the road and especially in parking lots. Well a lot more than in Canada.
Are sports cars that popular in California?
Thanks.
The weather is a lot nicer–so people can enjoy a sports car–almost everyday. You don’t see many expensive sports cars in the snow or continuously rainy places. What’s the point?? They may be fun but they are NOT very useful for carrying more than two people–or loading it up at the store. I guess a lot of these sport car owners have a second useful vehicle at their house. I know I would!! AND—maintaining a sports car is usually expensive–and a lot of money to insure!! OK??
