Storage insurance claim?
I recently had my storage unit in a Public Storage location broke into. They took all my electronics stuff (ie. computer, music keyboard, laptop) and my valuable sporting goods along with few pieces of Ikea furniture.
I’m in the process of filing for the claim and the insurance company asked for proof of these belongings. Can I supply them with owners manual since they left the cabinet full of my manuals. Also do I send them the manual itself or a picture of it? Anyone with experience?
I heard credit card statement can be use to show proof.. but wondering how effect that might be since it only show the stores it was purchase at and not the item.
Any suggestion? Thanks in advance
Yep, owners manuals are proof! As are photos. Ask the adjuster – likely, they’d be happy with a scan of the first page of the manual. Credit card statements are good, too. You don’t need proof for every single item, either!
